The Cherry
Tree Room
Cherry trees rarely grow at an altitude of 1,850 metres, but in Estoul they once cut down one large enough to make school desks from it. I love its rich autumn colour – warm and inviting.

Beneath the branches of the cherry tree
When he was a child, in the room that bears his name, goats would climb up from the barn below through a collapsed section of the house. Some would stick their heads out of the window, as if to peer out and see when the warm weather would return, ready to run free in the meadows once more.
